When it's needed and what it must contain
This page explains, in English, what this notarized Bulgarian пълномощно (power of attorney) must contain — the actual document filed with the Commercial Register is prepared and signed in Bulgarian. Application form A4 (for registering changes to an OOD/EOOD's circumstances) can be filed in person by the manager or by an expressly authorized person. When a third party — an accountant, lawyer, employee, or the owner while abroad — files the documents instead, a notarized power of attorney is required for the filing itself. It must contain:
| Field | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Person granting the power | full name/company name, personal ID/UIC, capacity (manager of the company) |
| Authorized person | full name, personal ID, address, ID card number |
| Scope of authorization | express statement: filing Application form A4 and its attachments before the Registry Agency, Commercial Register |
| Company and circumstance | company name and UIC, a brief description of the change (e.g. change of manager, address) |
| Validity period | a specific date or "until the registration is completed"; absent that, it remains valid until revoked |
| Notarization | notarization of the signature of the person granting the power |
Example — completed power of attorney (translated for reference)
This English version is for understanding only — the document that gets signed and notarized is in Bulgarian.

Frequently asked questions
When is a power of attorney needed for filing Application form A4?
+−
When the application to the Commercial Register is filed not by the legal representative (the manager) in person, but by another authorized person — for example an accountant, lawyer, or employee — an express power of attorney is needed for filing the documents themselves.
Does the power of attorney for A4 need to be notarized?
+−
Yes. A power of attorney for filing an application with the Commercial Register is drawn up with a notarized signature of the person granting it.
What is the validity period of the power of attorney?
+−
If no express term is stated, the power of attorney remains valid until expressly revoked by the person who granted it. For a one-off action (filing a specific application), it is more practical to state a specific deadline or expressly limit it to that one action.
Can the authorized person be a foreign national?
+−
Yes, there is no restriction on the authorized person's nationality — what matters is that their identity is verifiable and the signature of the person granting the power is notarized.

Important
The exact notarization text (deed number, volume, register) is completed by the notary at signing and is not filled in in advance. The document that gets filed with Bulgarian institutions must be in Bulgarian; we prepare the actual Bulgarian-language power of attorney for you.
