In short
The site itself does not set cookies. We use no advertising or analytics cookies and load no social-media or advertising pixels. Visit statistics are collected without cookies. We store two things in your browser (in sessionStorage): where your visit came from and, if you fill in the guided "Get started" form, how far you have got in it. Both are deleted when you close the tab. That is why the site shows no consent banner today.
Security cookies (Cloudflare)
The site is delivered through the Cloudflare network, which protects it from automated traffic and attacks. If Cloudflare decides to check your browser, it may set a technical security cookie. Such a cookie is strictly necessary to show you the site and does not require consent (Art. 4a of the Bulgarian Electronic Communications Act).
Cookieless statistics (Ahrefs Web Analytics)
We count visits with Ahrefs Web Analytics. The tool sets no cookies and stores no identifiers in your browser. It receives the technical data contained in the request (page opened, referring address, device and browser type, IP address) and shows us aggregated statistics only, such as visits per page and per source. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Visit source (sessionStorage, key bs_utm)
When you open the first page in a browser tab, the site stores in sessionStorage, under the key bs_utm, the page where the visit started and the referring address (referrer), and, if they are present in the URL, the UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) and ad click identifiers (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, msclkid, fbclid).
This data stays in your browser only and is deleted automatically when you close the tab. It reaches us only if you submit a form on the site. It is then sent together with your request, the page you are writing from and the site language, so that we know which pages and channels bring in requests. What we do with it after that is described in the Privacy Policy.
Guided form progress (sessionStorage, keys bs-msf-en and bs-msf-bg)
The guided form at /en/start/ stores your progress in sessionStorage under the key bs-msf-en (bs-msf-bg in the Bulgarian version): your answers, your name, email and phone if you have already entered them, the country code you picked and the step you are on. If you reload the page, you do not have to start again.
None of this is sent to us until you press the send button on the last step. It is deleted after the form has been sent successfully or when you close the tab. This storage is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for (filling in the form), so it does not require consent (Art. 4a(2) of the Bulgarian Electronic Communications Act).
Marketing cookies
We use no advertising cookies, pixels or remarketing.
If we add analytics cookies
Google Analytics and other tools that set cookies are not used today. If we decide to introduce them, we will first update this policy, and the cookies will only be set after you accept them in a consent banner. Your choice will be kept in your browser's localStorage under the key cookie-consent so that we do not ask on every visit, and you will be able to change it at any time. Declining will not restrict access to the content.
How to control this
You can delete or block cookies and site data, including sessionStorage, in your browser settings. The site and its forms work without the sessionStorage data. Questions: office@bulsmetka.bg.
